CLOSED Call for WG1 meeting, Zagreb

The WG1 in-person meeting will take place on 28-29 September 2023, in Zagreb, Croatia at the Department of Speech and Language Pathology, Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb.

The main objective of the meeting is to finalize the experiment procedure for the MultiplEYE data collection.

Please note that everyone (not only Management Committee members) who is a member of WG1 is eligible to apply for attendance and will be reimbursed upon the completion of the event if they are elected by the COST Action committee.

If you are a member of WG1 and wish to participate in the meeting, there are approx. 15 eligible places that will be reimbursed by COST. Note that Action members from other Working Groups can also apply, but priority will be given to WG1 members who will collect eye-tracking data for the MultiplEYE core dataset at their home institutions and/or have been heavily involved in the experiment design process.

Note that this also means we can only accept a limited number of participants from the same lab, so please coordinate with your colleagues. In case we receive more applications than eligible places we will choose the participants to ensure a balance between languages and research labs.

If you are interested in attending, please send the application form via e-mail to multipleye.2022@gmail.com.
The application form includes a brief motivation. In the application you should explain why you wish to attend the meeting, how it will benefit your research and how you plan to contribute to the WG and Action objectives. Please also specify if and how you are planning to contribute to the MultiplEYE data collection.

If the number of applicants exceeds the number that can be supported by the available budget, the responsible committee of the Action will select applicants to be reimbursed. The selection will be based on the motivation received and the applicant’s contribution to WG1. Geographic and gender balance, and inclusiveness of Early Career Investigators will be considered. Priority will be given to the applications coming from the ITC. The list of participants selected for reimbursement will be announced after the application deadline.

Applications should be submitted by July 5, 2023.

Formal invitations will be sent out to the selected participants via the e-COST platform.

Note that MultiplEYE can only cover the expenses for a limited number of places. Therefore, we also welcome participants who can cover their expenses through their universities or other sources. Applicants who apply but are not selected as eligible for reimbursement are nevertheless welcome to join the meeting at their own expenses. However, due to organisational matters, this number will be limited, as well.

According to COST rules, all participants that are eligible for reimbursement are expected to initially pay all the expenses themselves and provide evidence of expenses incurred via the e-COST platform. Participants will be reimbursed after the meeting for the attended days and travel time. Please refer to page 85 of the COST Annotated Rules to see precise calculations.

Please carefully read the Online Travel Reimbursement Rules (OTRR) for details on reimbursement upon the completion of the event.
