WG1 in-person meeting on psychometric tests

Tartu, Estonia
May 6-8 2026

We are pleased to invite you to the next in-person meeting of Working Group 1 (WG1) of the COST Action CA21131 MultiplEYE – Enabling multilingual eye-tracking data collection for human and machine language processing research.

Date and Venue

The meeting will take place on May 6-8, 2026, at the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics, University of Tartu, in Tartu, Estonia. Tartu is well connected to Tallinn and Riga, so there are different options for travel. Further details regarding the venue and the agenda will be shared in the coming weeks.

Objectives of the Meeting

The main objective of the meeting is to coordinate and discuss the next steps in the dissemination of our research, based on the data we collected in MultiplEYE, mainly using the psychometric tests. This includes addressing challenges in selecting the appropriate tests, setting the preprocessing pipeline, and discussing the publication(s) based on the psychometric (and eye-tracking) data. The meeting will thus serve to plan and initiate publications, with a particular focus on individual differences and the contribution of cognitive mechanisms to reading. Furthermore, the meeting aims to strengthen collaboration and mutual support among labs. Finally, during the meeting we will devote some time to discuss the sustainability of our repository and the process of data collection.

We especially encourage applications from colleagues who have been actively involved in the selection of psychometric tests and who have collected these data, alongside the eye-tracking data.

Application and Reimbursement

All members of WG1 are eligible to apply for attendance. Priority will be given to Action members who have contributed actively to WG1, especially to the discussions on psychometric testing.

To apply, please complete the application form (circulated via email to all MultiplEYE members) and send it via e-mail to multipleye.2022@gmail.com. The form includes a brief motivation in which you should explain why you wish to attend and how your work aligns with the meeting objectives, particularly regarding the adaptations and analyses of psychometric test batteries in light of the Action’s goals.

Applications should be submitted by March 20, 2026.

In case the number of applicants exceeds the available budget, the responsible Committee of the Action will evaluate applications based on prior contribution and motivation statements. The list of participants selected for reimbursement will be announced after the application deadline. Selected participants will be formally invited via the e-COST platform.

We also welcome participants who can cover their expenses through their universities or other funding sources. While self-funded applicants will not be reimbursed by COST, their participation is subject to space limitations, and their applications will be evaluated according to the same criteria as all other applicants.

According to COST rules, all participants who are eligible for reimbursement are expected to initially pay all the expenses themselves and provide evidence of expenses incurred via the e-COST platform. Importantly, no costs related to the meeting should be incurred before you have received and accepted your official invitation via e-COST, as any such expenses cannot be reimbursed.

Participants will be reimbursed after the meeting for the attended days and travel time. Please refer to page 85 of the COST Annotated Rules to see precise calculations.

Please carefully read the Online Travel Reimbursement Rules (OTRR) on page 82 of the Annotated Rules for details on reimbursement upon the completion of the event.

We are looking forward to your applications, and to seeing many of you in Tartu for a productive and inspiring meeting!
