MultiplEYE mid-term Conference

We are delighted to share with you the call for abstracts for the MultiplEYE Midterm Conference (MuMiCo24)! 
The conference will take place on 12-13 September 2024, in Tirana, Albania at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, University of New York in Tirana, Albania.

Conference theme:

The purpose of the MultiplEYE Midterm Conference is to bring together researchers from the different fields involved in the Action and to present related research results.
All members of the MultiplEYE COST Action (CA21131) are invited to submit an abstract. External participants are also welcome to submit an abstract but MultiplEYE members will be prioritized for reimbursement.

Scope:

The scope of the conference focuses on multilingual eye-tracking for human and machine language processing research. Submission topics can include (but are not limited to):
– Eye-tracking data collection & data management 
– Eye-tracking experiment design & methodology
– Eye-tracking for psycholinguistic research questions 
– Eye-tracking for natural language processing

Submissions:

Abstracts should be submitted as a PDF of 1 single page (including references).

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Programme Committee.
Abstracts will be accepted or rejected. The Organizing Committee will decide on the mode of presentation for all accepted abstracts (poster presentation or oral presentation).

Proceedings:

All accepted abstracts will be collected in a book of abstracts, which will be available through PsychArchives.
Each abstract will receive a DOI.

The first author of each abstract needs to sign the Declaration of Consent for Distribution giving permission for the materials to appear on PsychArchives.
The form should be signed and uploaded in EasyChair by September 10, 2024.

Funding:

The Organizing Committee will decide on reimbursement of travel costs taking into account the demographic details and justification provided in the submission form. The presenter of the paper will be the participant applying for reimbursement. You will be asked to mark the presenting author in the submission form.

If the number of applicants exceeds the number that can be supported by the available budget, the responsible Committee of the Action will select applicants to be reimbursed. The selection will be based on the quality of the received abstract and the applicant’s contribution to the Action. Geographic and gender balance, and inclusiveness of Early Career Investigators will be considered. Priority will be given to the applications coming from Inclusiveness Target Countries. The list of participants selected for reimbursement will be announced together with the notification of acceptance. 

Note that MultiplEYE can only cover the expenses for a limited number of places. Therefore, we also welcome participants who can cover their expenses through their universities or other sources. Applicants who apply but are not selected as eligible for reimbursement are nevertheless welcome to join the conference at their own expense. 

Formal invitations will be sent out to all selected participants (with and without reimbursement) via the e-COST platform. 
According to the COST rules, all participants who are eligible for reimbursement are expected to initially pay all the expenses themselves and provide evidence of expenses incurred via the e-COST platform. Participants will be reimbursed after the meeting for the attended days and travel time. Please refer to page 85 of the COST Annotated Rules to see precise calculations.
